INSPIRATIONS FALL-WINTER 2024 COLLECTION
AXEL MARTINEZ
For its Autumn-Winter 2024 collection, Maison Cotélac drew inspiration from two richly narrative themes.
Emir Kusturica's Time of the Gypsies (Le temps des gitans in French), a masterpiece that marked its time, is a dramatic and burlesque fable that plunges us into the intense culture of the gypsies of former Yugoslavia.
The "hero" Perhan, a young boy with telekinetic powers raised by a colorful grandmother and a seriously ill sister, dreams of a better life for himself, his family and Azra, the girl he loves. The phantasmagorical destiny the filmmaker has in store for him will be quite different!
This highly symbolic work has been a real source of inspiration for our creations. Marked by the depth of the characters and the melancholy of the story, our designers recreate the magic and poetry of this film through our collection.
Le temps des gitans is all about daring mixes, assertive baroque, blends of flowers and large-scale motifs, inspired by the prints that once lined the silk route. Warm, ostentatious materials like printed velvet in a total look brighten up winter and speak of festivities.
Dresses with intricate draping evoke fluid vintage chic.
Kampina Blouma's colorful floral print perfectly illustrates our bohemian touch revisited, in a very assertive chic style. Here, a boyish silk shirt that perfectly complements the extreme femininity of the print.
In addition to prints, Cotélac offers you its usual range of pieces highlighting the unique know-how perpetuated in our Ambérieu-en-Bugey workshops.
Our reworked pleats and bouillonnés with new volumes sublimate this puff-sleeved shirt, with its textured look rippling over our Azimut print.
We've added an ostentatious, baroque embroidery to our sweatshirt in a comfortable, dense royal blue.
Our embroideries also travel on other character pieces, like this little sleeveless cardigan that will warm your look with softness.
The printed boutis kaftan is one of Cotélac's key pieces for this autumn-winter season. Ample and comfortable, it will accompany you on all your adventures: even paired with basic pieces, this nomadic coat will take you on a journey.
This collection is both easy and daring, like the spontaneous, creative wear of the characters in "Gypsy Times", between rock dandyism and baroque vintage. An imprint of our savoir-faire. It traces a singular bohemian line.
